Most of the knitters have been working at ArtSol for many years. They are true artists in their field of business. The 15 workshops are family businesses in which both spouses usually work. Many joined ArtSol as skilled knitters. Others even received their training at ArtSol.
Each workshop knits the models for which it has designed the patterns. Payment is determined according to the degree of difficulty or time required. The knitters receive the wool from ArtSol and are paid weekly when they hand over their finished knitwear. They appreciate the fact that although alpaca fashion is a seasonal product, they still have work all year round. This is because ArtSol produces for international customers as well as for the company's three own shops in the Bolivian capital La Paz.

Maxima Huanca learnt to knit on a hand knitting machine at the age of 16. When she met her husband, she taught him how to knit. Today, they both work together in their workshop, which is attached to their home in El Alto. They have four children aged between 14 and 5. Maxima, who is now 40 years old, particularly likes the fact that she is independent in her work. She can work from home and organise her own time. ArtSol enables her to juggle work and family life.
Randy Toqui has been working at ArtSol for 10 years. His workshop is also located in his home, where he works together with his wife. They have one son.
Randy learnt knitting from his uncle, but then migrated to Brazil because he wasn't earning enough in Bolivia. After finding out about ArtSol through a friend, he returned to his home country.

Today, after 10 years, he is still motivated to work for ArtSol.
He particularly appreciates the fair and prompt payment. He also has received a knitting machine and other advance payments from ArtSol. He very much enjoys the working atmosphere. He can also work from home. Working and living at home - ArtSol makes it possible for him.
